About the Job
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in creating clear, concise and user-focused technical documentation, with prior experience in the US and global payments domain. The role involves creating software release notes and product user guides, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of high-quality documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive software release notes and product user guides for diverse audiences, including technical and non-technical users.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and subject matter experts to gather information and translate complex concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation.
- Review and edit content for clarity, consistency, grammar, and technical accuracy.
- Create and manage templates, standards, and style guides to ensure consistency across all documentation.
- Adapt content for different formats, such as PDFs, online help systems, and web-based documentation.
Research industry trends and best practices in technical writing and incorporate them into documentation strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Computer Science or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience as a technical writer, preferably in the payments or financial technology industry.
- Proven ability to write clear, concise, and engaging documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Good to have a strong understanding of US and global payments systems, including relevant terminology and workflows.
- Proficiency in tools such as MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, Microsoft Word, or similar documentation tools.
- Familiarity with Agile software development processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with API documentation and tools such as Postman or Swagger.
- Knowledge of content management systems and version control tools (e.g., Git).
- Experience in creating multimedia content, such as video tutorials or infographics.
