About the Role

Finzly, a leader in innovative payment and financial solutions, is looking for a senior engineering leader for our FX product portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the Director of FX Technology will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our cutting-edge FX offerings. This role will preferably be based in Charlotte at Finzly’s corporate headquarters.

Responsibilities

Own the technical delivery of FX trading, client account management, post-trade, and related products.
Partner closely with product owners to ensure alignment with the product roadmap.
Deliver technical designs and assessments for high impact initiatives.
Lead and develop a team of both skilled and new engineers.
Build a collaborative culture with a focus on engineering excellence, growth, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with other technology owners to promote and adopt engineering best practices; work with teams to leverage opportunities or remove obstacles.
Ensure commitments are delivered on time and on budget, including identifying and resolving risks and issues.

Requirements

Senior leader with hands-on engineering experience delivering production software to customers.
Minimum of 5 years experience in FX or Trade Finance.
Deep understanding of the overall FX trade lifecycle and surrounding ecosystem including integration with market data providers, liquidity providers, and other third parties.
Proven team management experience including ability to coach and inspire a high performing team to build products that delight our customers.
Deep understanding and practitioner of sound engineering principles and processes (e.g., Lean, Agile, DevOps); commitment to continuous improvement.
Deep understanding of security and compliance for managing data, ideally in a regulated industry.
Strong background in software architecture, microservices, and cloud environments (AWS).
Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years equivalent experience.
Prior engineering experience a must; individual must be comfortable working in the code base.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in information systems, business administration or a technology-related field is required.
