From simplifying foreign exchange to building the operating system for the agentic bank, Finzly has continually expanded what banks can do.
The Story of Finzly
01
Every Revolution Starts with One Believer.
Fourteen years ago, Finzly wasn’t a platform. It wasn’t a suite of products. It was an idea. An idea born from a simple observation: banks were being forced to innovate on technology that was never designed for the future.
While consumer expectations evolved at digital speed, the systems powering financial institutions remained anchored in decades-old architecture. Payments lived in one silo. Accounts in another. Digital channels somewhere else. Trade finance followed its own path. Every new capability required another integration, another vendor, another workaround.
One banker, Booshan Rengachari, saw the opportunity to reimagine banking and founded Finzly with a bold vision for the future.
Another banker saw what Booshan was building and took a chance on the young company. They believed there had to be a better way to modernize banking without replacing everything that came before, and they chose to partner with Finzly in its earliest days.
Fourteen years later, that institution remains a strategic customer—a testament to the power of shared vision, long-term partnership, and a commitment to continuous innovation. It’s a relationship that reflects what Finzly has always believed: the best transformations begin with trust.
02
Banking Was Built for Yesterday.
The numbers tell the story.
Approximately 90% of banking core software in the United States is still legacy technology, and large financial institutions spend nearly 80-90% of their IT budgets maintaining existing systems, leaving only about 10-20%% available for innovation.
Banks don’t lack ideas. They lack the flexibility to execute them.
Every modernization initiative becomes a multi-year project. Every new payment rail requires another system. Every customer expectation creates another integration challenge.
Finzly was created to change that equation.
03
We Didn’t Set Out to Replace the Core. We Set Out to Unlock It.
From the beginning, our philosophy was different.
Instead of asking banks to rip and replace the systems they rely on every day, we asked:
What if innovation could happen around the core instead of through it?
What if banks could orchestrate modern capabilities while preserving the investments they’ve already made?
That idea became the foundation of Finzly.
04
It Started with Foreign Exchange.
Our first innovation focused on foreign exchange and cross-border banking.
Trade operations demanded sophisticated orchestration, compliance, real-time visibility, and complex workflows. Solving those challenges created the architectural DNA that would shape everything to come.
What began as our signature product — FX STAR on Trade Galaxy became the first building block of a much larger vision.
05
The Birth of BankOS.
BankOS emerged as the next chapter in Finzly’s evolution.
After solving one of banking’s hardest problems, modernizing international banking, the company expanded its mission to reimagine money movement itself, simplifying how financial institutions move and manage money across increasingly complex networks.
Built on first principles of design for bank transformation, BankOS was conceived as the modern operating system for banks – one that treats innovation not as an overlay on legacy infrastructure, but as a composable, app-based system with innovation at its core. A pre-wired ecosystem of ready-to-launch capabilities – from payment rails to virtual accounts and digital experiences, it functions like an app store for banks, where core banking capabilities can be launched the moment a bank is set up, and then continuously expanded without rebuilding foundational infrastructure.
It is this architecture that defines BankOS: a modern operating system for banks designed to make banking innovation modular, instant, and deployable at the speed of software.
06
Money movement on BankOS.
As the payments landscape accelerated with real-time rails, ISO 20022, FedNow, RTP, ACH modernization, and global connectivity, banks faced another challenge: too many systems trying to solve one problem — money movement.
Payment Galaxy unified them.
Instead of managing each rail independently, banks could orchestrate every payment from a single platform with intelligent routing, centralized operations, and complete visibility.
07
The Platform Expanded.
Account Galaxy: Banks needed more than payments. They needed modern account structures, virtual accounts, real-time ledgers, specialty experiences, and an extended API suite to meet modern customer expectations. Account Galaxy delivered the infrastructure to support entirely new business models.
Digital Galaxy: They needed digital experiences that matched customer expectations. Digital Galaxy connected commercial banking, treasury, mobile, APIs, and partner ecosystems into a unified experience.
Token Galaxy: As money itself began to evolve, Token Galaxy emerged to bridge traditional banking with tokenized deposits, stablecoins, programmable money, and future digital asset networks within a single operating model.
Agentic AI Galaxy: And now, as artificial intelligence moves from assistant to operator, Agentic AI Galaxy is enabling banks to automate decisions, orchestrate workflows, resolve exceptions, and execute complex banking operations with intelligence built directly into the platform.
08
The Vision Never Changed.
The products evolved. The mission didn’t.
Finzly exists to help financial institutions modernize without disruption.
To give banks the freedom to innovate without abandoning the systems that still power their business.
To enable continuous transformation instead of once-a-decade replacement projects.
Letting banks move at the speed their customers expect.
09
Building the Modern Banking Operating System.
Today, Finzly is more than a collection of products.
It is a composable banking platform where payments, accounts, trade, digital experiences, tokenized assets, and intelligent automation work together as one connected ecosystem.
Each capability is powerful on its own.
Together, they become something much greater: a modern banking operating system that allows financial institutions to add new products, launch new services, enter new markets, and embrace new technologies without rebuilding from scratch.
10
Our Story Is Still Being Written.
The banker who believed in us 14 years ago proved that bold ideas can reshape an industry.
Today, innovative leading banks of all sizes are continuing that journey.
Because the future of banking won’t be built by replacing everything that came before.
It will be built by connecting what exists, orchestrating what’s next, and creating the flexibility to adapt to whatever comes after.
